About Susan
When I was a young girl, I wanted to be an actress. I loved singing in the chorus from grade school through high school; performing in all 4 high school musicals and then plays in college and community theatre. One day I was gabbing (as usual!) with my mom and she said, “You know, you talk a lot! You should find a job that pays you to do that!” I thought about that seriously and decided to attend broadcasting school.
After I graduated, I got hired to work as a DJ at WTRY and WFLY in Albany, NY. A couple of years later, I moved to Connecticut where I was hired to work the mid day shift at KC 101 in New Haven and then I wrapped up my radio career at WZMX in Hartford. Throughout my 17 years as an on air personality, part of my job was voicing commercials and I fell in love with that aspect. I left radio in 1999 to start my own voice over business, traveling to NYC and Boston for auditions, going to local TV stations to record spots and eventually developed a client base that continued to hire me over the years. In the 20 years that I have had my own business, I have voiced hundreds of commercials for radio and television, both local and national. I particularly like voicing corporate and medical narrations, IVR, and educational videos. I also get a kick out of doing character voices; a crying baby, an old woman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, a cackling witch and even animal sounds! My donkey will blow you away!
